Online writing course

I’m a writer and book publisher based in Cork, Ireland and I also run a company
called Creative Writing Ink. Over four years ago, I quit my job as a solicitor and returned to university to complete a Masters in Journalism. The following year, I travelled around the world during which time, I worked at Mid-Day newspaper, Bangalore, India. On my return to my home country, Ireland, I set up my own publishing company, Silver Angel Publishing (silverangelpublishing.com). I published two children’s books "Perry the Playful Polar Bear" and "Perry the Polar Bear Goes Green". "Perry the Playful Polar Bear" was a winner in the children’s book category at the 2009 DIY Book Festival in Los Angeles. My third book, "Eco Zico" will be released in October this year. Apart from writing children’s books and blogging for hellomagazine.com, I also run Creative Writing Ink and co-ordinate creative writing courses (creativewriting.ie). We provide online creative writing courses together with critique and editorial services. Not everyone has the time to travel to creative writing classes every week and that’s where our online courses come in useful. You don’t need any software. All that’s required is internet access, as all lectures and exercises are carried out through email correspondence. Our tutors, who are professional and published writers email you exercises and lectures once a week. You then have a week to work through your exercises and feedback will be provided by the tutor on your work. Our schedule of courses includes beginners creative writing, memoir writing, poetry, blogging for writers and writing for children. Most of the courses are "on demand", which means you can start whenever you like and they run from 4-10 weeks. We also issue a bi-monthly free newsletter, which includes details on the latest publishing and freelance markets news, along with writing tips. You can sign up at our website, www.creativewriting.ie and a full schedule of both the online classes and writing workshops can also be viewed at our website. In addition to this, we have just launched a free discussion forum, where writers can upload extracts of their work to share with other writers and obtain honest (and polite!) feedback. You can also share any writing tips or discuss favourite books or authors.
